Having grown up in Knoxville, Dr. Calhoun is proud to be back home with his family in East Tennessee and practicing at Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic.

After doing both his undergraduate and graduate work at UT Knoxville, Dr. Calhoun earned his medical degree with high honors from the UT College of Medicine in Memphis. In medical school he served as a peer counselor for first and second year medical students and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Calhoun stayed in Memphis to do an internship in general surgery, a residency in orthopaedic surgery, and a Milford fellowship in hand surgery at the Campbell Clinic.

One of Dr. Calhoun’s academic accomplishments includes co-authoring a chapter in a physical therapy textbook on common hand surgical procedures. 

Dr. Calhoun is married to Cindy, also a Knoxville native. Together they have three boys, including twins. Dr. Calhoun enjoys spending time with his family and stays especially active in church and children’s activities. His hobbies include golf, tennis, and water sports.
